Class Types

All classes are all-levels.

Monarch Yoga offers hot yoga, strength-based classes, slow flow, and accessible options in Philadelphia. Whether you’re building intensity in a heated room or moving at a steadier pace, each class is designed to support you in building strength, breathing intentionally, and developing a consistent yoga practice

Heated Power Flow

Our signature practice is dynamic hot yoga built around breath and fluid movement.

MOVE, SWEAT, and BREATHE.

Practice a Vinyasa based flow in a room heated between 95–105 degrees using infrared panels to support circulation, mobility, and focus. Expect intentional sequencing that links your breath to each movement, and plan to build full-body strength and stamina. The heat enhances depth and intensity while encouraging steady concentration throughout your practice.

In the opening, set an intention for your practice (think: reducing stress, having a powerful practice, or finding mental clarity)

During the middle of the sequence, build strength and increase cardiovascular stamina through repeated poses, balances, and core work

Class ends with restorative stretching, inversions, and meditative rest

Leave feeling refreshed, renewed, and ready to take on what is next.

Deep Stretch Yin

During yin yoga, stillness and softening is your practice.

CENTER, RELEASE, and RELAX.

Yin yoga focuses on ease rather. You will hold posturesfor several minutes at a time, allowing the body’s connective tissues — fascia, ligaments, and joints — to respond gradually and intentionally. Rather than activating muscle, this practice invites softening.

We offer bolsters and blankets to support your longer holds, helping the nervous system settle and creating space for both physical and mental release. Yin complements our heated and strength-based classes by restoring balance, increasing mobility, and encouraging depth through stillness.

You will typically hold 3-5 minute poses, which target the joints and connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.

You will use blocks and bolsters to help find ease and comfort in each posture.

Leave feeling lighter, clearer, and completely relaxed.

Slow Flow

Our slow flow classes offer intentional movement at a grounded, accessible pace.

Flow, Reflect, and Reconnect

During Slow Flow yoga, you will have time to move deliberately, refine your alignment, and deepen your breath awareness while continuing to build strength. The room is warm (around 80–85°), which offers a challenging, supportive environment without the intensity of our fully heated classes.

This class bridges accessibility and strength-building — offering steady movement with space to explore each posture more fully. Slow Flow is also a great prenatal yoga option for expecting moms.

You will reconnect with the essentials of your practice

You can expect to move more slowly than you would in a Heated Power Flow.

Leave feeling grounded, settled, and centered.

Heated Power Strength

Dial up the intensity during our strength-focused yoga classes

CHALLENGE, STRENGTHEN, and STRETCH.

Built on the structure of Heated Power Flow, this class layers in strength intervals and controlled cardio bursts to elevate muscular endurance and heart rate.

Practiced in a 95–105° heated room, Heated Power Strength incorporates

We offer optional Bala Bangles and Bala Bands to add progressive challenge throughout the sequence.

It’s focused, dynamic, and adaptable — allowing you to scale intensity up or down depending on your needs that day.

In the opening, ground yourself and warm up the body.

During the middle of the sequence, you will challenge your muscular and cardiovascular capacities through movement, breath, and bumpin' beats.

Class ends with stretching and rest.

Leave feeling accomplished and ready for what's next.

Community Classes & Special Offerings

Five Dollar Flows

Our Five Dollar Flows are accessible, rotating classes designed to make yoga more available within our community. Formats vary — from power flow to slow flow — and may be heated, non-heated, in-studio, or hosted at partner locations.

Each offering maintains intentional sequencing and welcoming energy. A five dollar heated power flow class is typically taught by recent teacher training graduates and new members of the yoga teaching team. The best way to try out some different class styles, instructors, and get to know the community.

Roof Deck Flow

Our seasonal Roof Deck Flow at 171 West Berks Street brings the foundation and sequencing of Power and Slow Flow outdoors. Expect breath-based pacing in an open-air setting. The entrance is located on N Mascher Street. You’ll be greeted by one of our front desk staff who will guide you to the roof top.

Pop-Ups & Partnerships

Popping up in breweries, parks, rooftops, and so much more, Monarch has remained true to it’s roots, regularly hosting accessible yoga and special events throughout Philadelphia. These offerings vary in format and intensity but remain rooted in breath, accessibility, and community connection.
