Monarch Yoga University City is Officially Open!
Three studios, one membership, and a whole new corner of Philadelphia to move in.
On Saturday, August 22nd, Monarch Yoga officially opened the doors to our third Philadelphia studio at 3421 Walnut Street, bringing hot yoga, strength-based classes, slow flow, and accessible yoga to University City. It's been a long time coming, and it is every bit as warm, welcoming, and sun-filled as we hoped. Not to mention, it has a shower!!
Where is the new studio?
Monarch Yoga University City is located at 3421 Walnut Street, right in the heart of the Shop Penn Retail District — steps from Penn, Drexel, CHOP, and HUP. If you've practiced with us in Kensington or Northern Liberties, you'll recognize the same grounded, community-first energy, now with its own University City character: a bright, sunlit studio and a lobby made for lingering before and after class.
What classes can I take there?
University City opens with a full 40 class/week schedule from day one, including our signature Heated Power Flow, Deep Stretch Yin, and the same mix of strength, slow flow, and all-levels classes you'd find at our other studios. Between all three locations, Monarch now offers 120+ classes a week across Philadelphia — more ways than ever to build a practice that actually fits your life.
Do I need a separate membership for University City?
No — and this is the part we're most excited about. Monarch now runs on one membership across all three studios. Whether you're closer to Kensington, Northern Liberties, or University City, your membership moves with you. Take a Monday flow near Penn and a Thursday class in NoLibs on the same pass.
What if I'm new to Monarch?
New to the studio? Start with our Intro Offer — 3 weeks of unlimited classes for $50. It's the easiest way to get a real feel for Monarch, sample different class styles, and find your rhythm before committing to a membership.
What about Founding Memberships?
University City founding memberships are available now through September 15 — and they're the best rate this studio will ever offer. Join as a founding member and lock in your rate at $130/month or $1,199/year, with the option to upgrade to our Plus tier for guest passes & mat and towel rental. Once September 15 passes, this pricing is gone for good, so this is the window to get in early.
